The Guidance Department at MVP is comprised of School Counselors, Ms. Tara Deahn and Mrs. Lauren McAuley. Our School Counselors are dedicated to supporting all students, school staff, families and the community to increase student achievement. They have an established “open door policy,” serving both general education and special education students individually, in small groups, and in a classroom setting. This promotes a productive school counseling program where all students are supported in three domains: academic, social/emotional and personal/relational. Middle school is an exciting and challenging time for students. Ms. Deahn and Ms. McAuley work closely with our students as they transition from elementary school, and at each grade level here at MVP.  They understand that the transition to high school can be overwhelming. Our Guidance Department provides parent engagement opportunities through various High School Transition Workshops, individualized High School Transition Meetings, as well as MVP’s very own Annual High School Fair. The Guidance Department works in partnership with parents/guardians, teachers, administration, and all school staff to uphold a positive school culture for our students.
