I hope this email finds you well.
I want to take this opportunity to once again welcome all our sixth grade students who began their journey to Middle School, at MVP this year. It has been a challenging transition for many, but little by little they have been adjusting to the new procedures and school expectations. I want to commend them for putting forth every effort to be successful at everything they do, from day one. I also want to thank YOU, their parents, for having so much patience as we continue to put systems in place, and for understanding that it can take a few weeks for a child to acclimate to a new school, grade, peer group, school policies, procedures, new routines, teachers and administrative staff. A huge “shout out” goes out to all our returning 7th and 8th grade students for their enthusiasm, their positive outlook and energy to resume their learning process, and again to their parents for your understanding and commitment to our school. We had some challenges due to recent weather conditions but through all of it, I received your constant support and many shared thoughts and ideas that we can consider for the immediate future. Your support has been overwhelming and is truly heartfelt. Most importantly, thank you for sending your child to our school with a positive attitude about learning, a healthy respect for those with whom they interact, and a desire to accept, embrace and celebrate the uniqueness that every one of our students possess.
Each year brings exciting change!. Please join me in welcoming to our staff a fantastic group of educators, as follows:
- Ms. Elizabeth Veloz – Visual Arts Teacher ( 6th, 7th and 8th)
- Ms. Fatema Ali – 7th Grade Science Teacher
- Ms. Danielle Fleming - 6th Gr. ELA Teacher
- Ms. Eleni Campbell - 6th Gr. Math Teacher
- Ms. Renata Golabek – ICT Special Education Teacher 6th Grade
- Mr. Marqus McIntosh - Director of Media & Technology
**In another two weeks, we are anticipating that Ms. Monique Roberge will join our staff, as the Physical Education teacher. Mr. Burton and other faculty members of the school (Mr. Cretella and Mr. Friedlander) have been leading the Physical Education program temporarily . We appreciate them !
Lastly, please note that our newly purchased hardware devises (Chrome books) for our 7th and 8th grade students are being set up while also aligning each student’s password to individual accounts. This process has taken a little longer than expected but we are anticipating that everything will be finalized by the end of September. Mr. Quezada will be sharing soon, pertinent information on how to secure insurance for the devices.
Thank you to all who helped prepare for this new school year. Your commitment to ensuring that MVP remains a celebrated and successful school is awe-inspiring. It remains an honor and privilege to serve as your principal. Please stop by and say hello. Together, our students , our stellar teachers and support staff, will make this school year one of increased growth and achievement for all children.
